We really enjoyed our stay at the Tower. It had everything that we needed and the interior was very smart. Very warm and welcoming as well as being really clean. A beautiful location – so many bike and walking routes from the front door and a tasty pub and tea room in the village. Highly recommend the tower and would love to stay again! Thank you for our stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tower, a very unique and quirky home. Really easy to find, and with a lovely pub just across the road which is well worth a visit as the food is amazing!
Fabulous location for walks directly from the property, or plenty more reached by car.
Had a lovely long weekend here, Thank you 😀

Lovely place to stay in the heart of Exmoor – great walks just off the doorstep, a quality pub across the road, and a short drive to various key towns and locations across the national park. Exactly as described and worked brilliantly for us!

We had a lovely stay in Simonsbath. The location is perfect for dogs as there are so many walks locally. The pub and tea room are a great spots for drinks and food

We had a fantastic stay at Birch Cleave Stables. It was pristine and beautifully decorated, with everything you could need to make you feel at home…if your home was immaculate. The location is second to none; the village is stunning with fantastic walks right from the doorstep, and within easy driving of pretty coastal villages (Lynmouth and Porlock were excellent). We had dinner on our first night at the Exmoor Inn, which was the best meal out we had ever had – shout out to the pickled rhubarb! Thank you for such a great mini-break.

We had a great relaxing stay at the property. It is located close to lots of lovely walks and right opposite a pub/restaurant where we ate most nights. The cottage is very comfortable and very well appointed. We will definitely be back.

Lovely, well appointed and comfortable cottage in super location if you want walks. This was our second visit which says it all, really. Not suitable for dogs that are hard to control, but for an old boy like ours, perfect, with great walks from the doorstep and a spring in the garden.

Patrick C – Feb 2025

Perfect, location was amazing for a chilled getaway. A proper home from home with all of the facilities needed, with the addition of a fantastic pub across the road. Would definitely recommend and plan to return next year! Thank you for having us.

Beautiful place to stay. Both the surrounding countryside and the quality of the accommodation were just perfect.

Rosemary M – Nov 2024

Ideally placed for visiting coast and moor, Somerset and Devon. Beautiful location and plenty of places to visit close by. The standard in this cottage is far superior to any that we have visited anywhere in the UK. It is truly a home from home. It’s clean, warm and comfortable and everything is of the highest quality. We really couldn’t fault anything. Thank you. The Exmoor Forest Inn opposite has excellent service and food and many placed in the surrounds also offer good cuisine.

A lovely, cosy, comfortable cottage in a beautiful part of Exmoor. Great location for walking but also for getting to the coast. Excellent, friendly pub opposite so we could go out for supper without having to drive. A great place to spend a week. We’d love to come back.

We had a lovely holiday staying at Birch Cleave Stable. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. We would thoroughly recommend it, particularly as there is the Exmoor Forest Inn across the road, serving excellent food and Boevey’s tea room does delicious breakfasts.

June D – Sept 2024

Very comfortable beds, great shower. Perfect location for local walks, Staunton beach was perfect for the dogs. Food opposite at Exmoor Inn was great. We had a smashing week

No expense has been spared in converting this beautiful building. Solid Oak floors, modern clean bathroom, modern fitted kitchen (shame freezer not bigger) Apple TV and the like for those rainy snugly days. Ideally situated right opposite a pub (we didn’t sample) Also ideal for dog walks as the footpath runs right behind the cottage into the woods. The photos of the refurb are interesting. The host is very amenable. I would recommend this property because it is adult only and dog friendly and has ‘White Company’ bedding 🙂 Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay in this immaculate quirky little house.
However very steep staircase and down to ground floor to bathroom wasn’t easy at night. Very comfortable bed and lovely outside area to sit. Beautiful setting in Simonsbath and loved our walk straight from the front door.

Beautifully restored barns, easy to get to, good parking options, great restaurant across the road; walk into Exmoor straight from the house. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable

Was a lovely place to day, in the middle of exmoor national park with beautiful surroundings. Was very cosy and peaceful!
Only problem we had was that there was very little toilet roll and had no tea/coffee/sugar/milk – so make sure to take some with you if you stay.
The pub opposite was beautiful and had the most amazing food and drink – would highly recommend going there for dinner and cocktails on your stay!

Exactly what we expected.
Comfortable and well-equipped.
Lovely walks from the doorstep.
The dog loved drinking from the little spring in the garden, he had a great time, which was a relief, because we’ve just lost our older dog, which made him insecure.
Right on the road, so might be difficult with dogs that are less than well behaved.

Wow what a beautiful place to stay the stable is very welcoming warm and enchanting.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need I cooked Christmas dinner there with ease.  The wood burner was an added bonus on those wet December days I would return again and again very magical place

The cottage is lovely – cosy, finished to a high standard and was spotless on arrival.

It’s in the perfect location for exploring Exmoor on horseback with access onto the Two Moors Way and a massive network of bridleways directly from the driveway.

I had a superb meal at the pub over the road and was disappointed that they were fully booked for my second evening!

Highly recommended

If you are looking for solitude, beautiful walks in an amazing setting, wild ponies and deer herds on the walks, and some great local (usually 20-30 minutes through gorgeous countryside) pubs and restaurants for foodies, then a stay at Pip’s amazingly restored cottage is the place. Nestled in the center of Exmoor Forest, it is a beautifully restored home with a great fireplace, stone floors, fine appointments throughout, and Pip at the ready in case you need advice or help. We had some awful weather for most days, but if you are British, then you’re used to it, and it is such beautiful countryside, even an aging American loved it, although not as much as my family and our intrepid dog, Blaze. Pubs like the Black Venus a 15-minute drive away provide amazing locally sourced food, and when the sun pops out it’s 30-45 minutes to great beaches.
